ABOUT SOPHIA

Sophia St. John (she/her/hers) knew her life was meant to be lived on stage after performing the entire Pitch Perfect riff-off at her middle school dance. After being born in northern New Jersey and never having to pump her own gas, she now calls Charlotte, North Carolina, home. As a young performer yearning to pursue her passion, Sophia is studying just outside Cleveland at the Baldwin Wallace Conservatory of Performing Arts, where she is working toward her Bachelor of Music in Music Theatre.
Before making the jump to Berea, Ohio, Sophia studied Theatre at her magnet arts school, Central Academy of Technology & Arts, where she was nominated for Best Actress in the 2024 Blumey Awards as Natasha Rostova in Dave Malloy's Natasha, Pierre & the Great Comet of 1812. She was then nominated the following year for Best Supporting Actress as Fantine in Les Misérables, which she got the opportunity to portray in her Senior year of high school.
When she's not singing her favorite Jason Robert Brown song, Sophia can be found writing her own music, playing the guitar and piano, or harmonizing with any song that comes on the radio. In her free time, she loves dissecting new musicals, reading a new play, or watching a T.V. show that will make anyone cry their eyes out.
